THE PIRATE RADIO USING SNEAKER DROPS TO PROMOTE UNDERGROUND ARTISTS

Before Air Max was iconic in the mainstream, it was flexed by icons of the underground. Thanks to underground artists from the pirate radio era who rocked the shoe on their feet and on-air through their lyrics, Air Max became a household name.

Nike paid back today’s underground the same way artists brought up Air Max back then – through pirate radio airwaves. Airing live from JD Sports NYC, ONAIR.MAX was the first pirate radio that dropped new kicks and put emerging artists in front of Air Max’s mainstream fanbase.
